Camberwell Arts Festival 2010: A call to artists

Collective Canvas

Caspar Below: I Told You So, Camberwell Arts Festival 2009

Camberwell Arts are canvassing your art.  We want as many people as possible to take part in this year’s Camberwell Arts Festival and inviteyou to treat the streets of SE5 as a blank canvas - a laboratory for experimentation in art.

We are looking for work that will create a strong visual impression and can be exhibited or performed in public and alternative spaces throughout Camberwell, such as pubs, parks, pavements, bus shelters, shops, cafes etc.  For those unfamiliar with the local area, it is not a prerequisite to select your ideal exhibition/performance site as we can work with you to find a suitable location. We would also like to hear from artists who are interested in exploring group working practices to construct a series of temporary art trails throughout Camberwell.

We are able to offer 5 artists/groups a small budget of £500 per project to contribute towards material costs, installation costs and the artists’ time.  We are also interested in working with other artists/groups on a support-in-kind basis.

The deadline for submissions is Monday 19th April 2010

Please send information about your proposed work, an artist’s statement, images of previous works (or links to images) and contact details to info@camberwellarts.org.uk or kellyoreilly@london.com
